EDMONTON — The City of Edmonton opened the gates of the new Lewis Farms Transit Centre on Wednesday, June 8.
“This new transit centre is part of the city’s long-range plan to encourage people to take public transit,” said Mayor Stephen Mandel in a press release.
The west end transit centre cost roughly $13 million, with one third of the funding coming from the Canada-Alberta Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund (CAMRIF).
The centre has over 600 spaces in the new park-and-ride lot, 14 bus bays, a public washroom and security cameras and emergency phones for public safety.
