All Else Fails holds CD release show at the Haven Social Club
By Mathew White
EDMONTON — All Else Fails is ready to burn down the Haven Social Club Saturday night for the release of their third full-length album, “The Oracle, What was, Is and Could Have Been”.
“Right now it’s just all about supporting that new album and hoping people come out to the Haven to check the CD release party,” said Barrett Klesko, lead vocals and guitar for All Else Fails.
The album, which has been about a year in the making, is described by Klesko as a reflection of the band over the past couple years. He said it’s very different from their previous albums.
“One of the things we try to do as a band is try and keep ourselves from ever being pigeonholed into a specific type of music or feeling that we need to write a certain way,” said Klesko. “So we just write whatever we feel at the time and that’s the album.”
Klesko admits that this album is also quite a bit darker than the previous ones. He said this time around there was a much larger metal influence on the music, whereas before there was more of a punk influence.
So far “This World in Flames” is being pumped as the album’s single, but Klesko said they’re already planing to start promoting “Rebirth” – which currently has a music video in post production.
After just returning from their pre-release western-Canadian tour about a month ago, Saturday’s show is the only remaining Canadian date for All Else Fails. However, for the first time the band has booked two tours overseas. They will be performing in the Philippians this winter and throughout Europe in the spring.
“I’m really really excited about it,” said Klesko. “We’ve had a lot of support for this album, and even the last one, from the European market.”
“It’s a whole new adventure.”
All Else Fails will be performing at the Haven Social Club on Saturday, September 10 alongside Syn{a}pse, Hollows Anatomy and Enduring the Fall.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Cover starts at 8 p.m.
