EDMONTON — Registration for the upcoming 2011-2012 Edmonton Girls Hockey Association (EGHA) season gets started Friday at Westridge/Wolf Willow Community Hall.

According to a 2005 Girls’ Hockey Survey, participation in girl’s hockey in Canada has steadily been on the rise in the past 15 years, starting from 6,000 girls in 1990 to more than 50,000 in 2005.

“EGHA has a team for every girl. Whether you are learning to skate, new to hockey or are playing already, we would love to have you come and see what the Edmonton Girls Hockey Association is all about,” said Lorena Smalley, communications director for the EGHA.
