Enjoying Edmonton: St. Georges Crescent
By Steven Wagers
GLENORA — According to the calendar it is now spring, and with warmer weather around the corner more people will start leaving their homes for a walk, bike ride or even a drive to enjoy the sun.
Often it can become wearisome if you are taking the same route every day, but luckily Edmonton has some very nice neighborhoods to go to for a nice walk.
One such area is St. Georges Crescent just off 102 Avenue across from Glenora School.
St. Georges Crescent provides a beautiful place to go. It is a maze of intertwining roadways, allowing any multitude of different routes to take. There are also pathways that lead to MacKinnon Ravine Park, making it an excellent starting point for those who like to go for even longer walks.
It is not just the nature that makes this place so appealing either. For people who are more interested in man-made creations, the houses are something to behold as well.
Because of its location, St. Georges Crescent provides some of the best viewpoints in the city to look out over the North Saskatchewan river.
The quietness of the neighborhood, combined with the fantastic scenery makes this one of the nicest areas to go.
