* Spring Cleanup Spring Cleanup

Time: 6:00 pm

The Friends of Jasper Place co-ordinate cleanups in various west-end communities. Garbage bags and plastic gloves are supplied. Volunteers are asked to dress for the weather and bring any beverages needed. Schedule (subject to change to due weather): - April 19 - West Jasper Sherwood Community League. Meet in the Sherwood School Parking Lot (9620 152 St.) - April 26 - Canora. Meet at Canora Hall (10425 152 St.) - May 3 - Britannia-Youngstown. Meet at Britannia-Youngstown Hall (15927 105 Ave.)

Jane’s Walk 2012 takes place on May 5 & 6 in cities all around the world. Everyone is welcome to lead or join in a free walk exploring the history and stories that shape our everyday urban experience. There are 11 walks planned in Edmonton. Check link for details. The annual event was created in 2007 in Toronto by friends of the urban thinker Jane Jacobs and has since grown from 27 walks to over 500.

On Saturday, May 5, 2012, the Stanley A. Milner Library (downtown) will be bustling with even more energy than usual. And you're invited! We'll be celebrating the diverse stories of people who live in Edmonton's downtown communities - from the Oliver neighbourhood in the west to Boyle-McCauley in the east and everything in between.

* 92.5 JOE FM Bowl for Children92.5 JOE FM Bowl for Children

This is a pledge-driven event where teams of four are given the opportunity to play a game of 10-pin bowling with local celebrities and raise money for the Children’s Ability Fund. All proceeds are used to fund equipment and programs.

The 5th Annual Hope Conference for Parkinson’s is the largest and most significant event in Alberta offering Help and Hope on behalf of the over 8,000 people living with Parkinson disease in our Province. Taking place for the first time in Edmonton, it is a two-day gathering to connect people living with Parkinson disease, their caregivers, loved ones, and health professionals to the physicians, researchers, resources, knowledge, and information that will provide Help and Hope while we search for a cure.
