Sears kicked off the Financial FC Edmonton Foosball challenge Thursday at West Edmonton Mall.

“We’re promoting Sears and their different programs, products and services,” said Jada Hong.

What’s been dubbed a challenge is actually more of a draw, where anyone who plays a game of foosball (or just stops by) is free to win a set of VIP FC Edmonton tickets.  Contestants have a chance to win four tickets to the game on July 17, or wait until September for a chance to win a set for the September 11 game.

The contest runs from June 9-10 at WEM, and then picks up again on June 18, where a few to-be-announced players will be on site to sign autographs.

“(The players) haven’t been set yet,” said Hong with a laugh.  “It’s a secret.”

In addition to four game tickets, winners will also be given a pre-game meet and greet with a FC Edmonton player, as well as some merchandise and more.

The contest is also taking place at the Sears located in the Bonnie Doon Shopping Centre.
